WRHA offers Humane Education Services for School Classrooms, In-Shelter Tours and Presentations, On-Site Visits for Civic and Church Groups, Scout Troops and Badge Merit Programs, Special Education Groups, Public Outreach, Teen and College Level Animal Welfare Projects, Careers, Lectures and Much More. We can accompany your visit with a Shelter Pet and a Variety of Awesome Hand-Outs Specifically Designed to be Age Appropriate for a Variety of Animal Welfare Issues from Spay/Neuter to Shelter Facts and Stats, Overpopulation, Losing a Pet, Donation Drive Ideas for Animals, Community Service for In-School and Nurturing Compassion for People of all Ages. Our Humane Educator has over 24 years experience with inner-city youth, at risk children and Special Educational Needs, Multi-Ethnicity, Cultural Barrier Communication Skills and Unique Requests. Joanne has also assisted Law Enforcement Locally, Regionally and Nationally in Animal Cruelty/Abuse and Neglect Cases and has taught Classes at Conferences Offering Education for Law Enforcement. Special programs such as Character Education fills Teachers Needs by Providing Teaching Standards that Meet Educational Law in NYS Schools.
