First and foremost, WRHA would like to thank you for your support! As reported our facility has taken in a large number of dogs. At this time the dogs are being evaluated medically and behaviorally.
Q: Can I put in an adoption application for one of the dogs?
A: At this time we are not able to take applications on any of the new dogs as they still need full evaluations and medical care. You are more than welcome to place a general application with staff. Don’t forget, we have some awesome available dogs looking for forever families as well.
Q: How can I help?
A: Our staff is asking for donations of detergent, bleach, food (canned/dry), toys, Advantage/Frontline, and monetary donations for care.
Wanderers’ Rest is launching a new and exciting program- e-Foster – this is a great way for someone to get involved that can’t volunteer at the shelter, adopt or foster in their home. All we are asking is for you to use your keyboard to help share an adoptable pet.
The program is simple – just contact the shelter via email and indicate you are interested in becoming an iFoster. We will send you a short email with a photo and description of the adoptable pet. All you need to do is share with your network.
Once the pet is adopted, we will reach out to you with the good news and ask if you want to e-Foster another pet.
If you are interested in joining iFoster, email email@example.com

Pet Supplies Plus on Erie Blvd, Dewitt has been kind enough to offer us a spot to showcase a couple of our purr-fect cat adoptables. We want to make sure our cats have a nice, big kennel to call their own! To purchase the condos we will need to raise $4,000.00! WRHA is hoping to purchase these condos by late September.
We have already had a few generous donors! If you would like to donate you may stop in, donate through Network for Good, or send a check.

We are very pleased about the article in the August 20th Post Standard about Wanderers’ Rest and the work we do to help homeless and abandoned animals. Our volunteers and staff work hard to create the environment that the article describes. Unfortunately, there was an inaccuracy in the article, and it is so central to the organization’s mission that we feel compelled to provide clarification.
Hop on over to our Facebook and post a picture of your adopted pet.
If you are unable to post your pet’s pictures and story over at facebook please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
